This Privacy Policy explains how Denis Anzora, the operator of Omi ("Omi," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Omi fitness application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Omi helps users record workouts, cardio sessions, nutrition, and fitness progress. Omi is a fitness tracking tool, not a healthcare provider, and does not provide medical advice.

1. Contact Us

For support, feedback, or questions and requests about your privacy, email support@omifitness.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide, information created through your use of Omi, and limited information needed to operate the Services.

  • Account information: your Apple Sign-In identifier, Omi user ID, account identifiers, and email address if Apple or another account service provides it. Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your personal email.
  • Profile and social information: your username, display name, profile photo, and bio, and the people you follow and who follow you.
  • Strength and fitness information: exercises, workouts, routines, sets, repetitions, weights, personal records, workout history, goals, and progress.
  • Cardio information: activity type, duration, distance, calories, speed, incline, intensity, and route information for outdoor GPS activities.
  • Nutrition and body information: body weight, macro and calorie goals, food logs, meal details, and other fitness or nutrition information you choose to enter.
  • Food scan content: food photos and any optional text or details you submit for analysis, plus estimated foods, calories, and macros generated from the scan.
  • Program builder content: the training preferences you choose and the messages you write when you ask Omi to build or change a training program, plus the drafts and programs it creates.
  • Location information: route locations for outdoor GPS cardio and, for weather notifications, your approximate location, as described in Section 5.
  • Apple Health information: if you allow it, the Apple Health data described in Section 6.
  • Notification information: your device's push-notification token and your notification settings.
  • Subscription information: product, transaction, purchase, and entitlement status supplied through Apple services. Omi does not receive your full payment-card number.
  • Usage and diagnostic information: app events, crash reports, and error reports, with your app version, device model, and operating-system version, as described in Section 7.
  • Support communications: messages and other information you provide when requesting help, exercising privacy rights, or sending feedback.

Omi does not include advertising SDKs. Service providers may process limited technical request information, such as timestamps, network addresses, and error details, as needed to securely deliver their infrastructure.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Create and maintain your account and authenticate sign-ins.
  • Record, calculate, display, and synchronize workouts, cardio, nutrition, goals, and progress across signed-in devices.
  • Show your profile and activity summary to other Omi users, and let you follow other users.
  • Analyze food scans and return estimated nutrition information.
  • Draft and revise training programs from the preferences and messages you provide.
  • Send notifications, such as new-follower and weather notifications.
  • Provide subscription features and verify access entitlements.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, secure, maintain, and improve Omi.
  • Measure how features are used and diagnose crashes and errors.
  • Respond to support, account, and privacy requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect users, Omi, and others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.

With your permission, Omi sends notifications to your device. Some, such as reminders, are scheduled on your device. Others, such as new-follower and weather notifications, are sent from Omi's servers through Apple's push notification service. You can manage notifications in Omi or your device settings.

4. AI Features

Omi uses Google's Vertex AI service, which runs Gemini models, for food scanning and program building. Google processes this content as Omi's service provider. Omi does not send your name, email address, or account ID to Google for these features. Google states that it does not use this content to train its models without permission. Google's processing and any temporary retention are governed by its terms and Omi's Google Cloud settings.

Food scanning. When you scan food, the app sends the photos and any meal description you add to Omi's servers, which send them to Vertex AI to identify the foods and estimate calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, and fiber. Omi's servers process the photos in memory and do not store them. Omi keeps the result, including the food names, estimated nutrition, confidence, and the model used, to support food logging, support requests, security, and daily scan limits.

Program building. When you ask Omi to build or change a training program, Omi sends your program preferences (goal, experience, schedule, workout length, equipment, and exercises to avoid) and your message to Vertex AI to draft the program. Omi keeps the drafts and the programs you save, but not the text of your message.

AI-generated results are estimates and suggestions. Food and macro estimates may be incomplete or inaccurate, and drafted programs are general fitness suggestions. They are not medical or nutritional advice. Do not rely on them to diagnose, treat, or manage a health condition, injury, or allergy. Review and correct an estimate before adding it to your food log, and review a program before you follow it.

5. Location Information

Omi collects precise location when you grant location permission and use an outdoor GPS cardio feature. Location points are used to measure and display information such as your route, distance, speed, and workout progress, and to synchronize that workout with your account. Routes are displayed on maps provided by Mapbox.

Weather notifications are on by default. For them, Omi saves your time zone and notification time with your account and, if you grant location permission, your approximate location (accurate to about one kilometer) and its place name. Omi's servers send these coordinates to Open-Meteo, a weather service, to get the forecast for your notifications. You can turn weather notifications off in Omi's settings.

You can deny or withdraw location permission in your device settings. If you do, outdoor route recording, weather notifications, and related measurements may not work, but you can continue using Omi features that do not require location.

6. Apple Health

If you allow it, Omi reads and writes Apple Health data, including workouts, steps, active energy, distance, heart rate, resting heart rate, body weight, and height. Omi uses this data to record and display your activity and progress, and to save your Omi workouts to Apple Health.

Apple Health data stays in Apple Health unless it becomes part of an Omi record, such as a workout or body-weight entry, which synchronizes with your account like your other entries. Omi does not use Apple Health data for advertising and does not share it with advertisers or data brokers. You can change these permissions at any time in the Health app or your device settings.

7. Analytics and Crash Reports

Omi uses PostHog to understand how the app is used, such as which features people open and whether key actions succeed. These events are linked to your Omi user ID and include details such as your app version, device model, and operating-system version. PostHog may also receive your network address. The events do not include your name, email address, food or nutrition entries, workout details, body measurements, or purchase details, and Omi does not record your screen.

Omi uses Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to receive crash reports and some error reports. These include device, operating-system, app, and error details. Omi does not attach your name, email address, or user ID to crash reports.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Paid subscriptions are offered through Apple's App Store and StoreKit services. Apple processes your payment method and billing information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Omi receives limited transaction and entitlement information needed to confirm whether subscription features should be available, but does not directly receive your full payment-card details.

Apple may process purchase, distribution, crash, and diagnostic information when you download or purchase Omi through Apple services, subject to Apple's own privacy terms. This does not mean Omi receives all information held by Apple.

9. Service Providers

We use service providers to operate Omi. They may process information on our behalf only as needed to provide their services, comply with law, and protect their systems.

  • Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and synchronization infrastructure.
  • Vercel provides website hosting and cloud/API infrastructure.
  • Google provides Vertex AI, which runs the AI models for food scanning and program building, and Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports.
  • PostHog provides product analytics.
  • Mapbox provides the maps that display outdoor routes. The Mapbox software in Omi may send Mapbox technical, usage, and location information as described in Mapbox's privacy policy.
  • Open-Meteo provides the weather forecasts for weather notifications.
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, StoreKit subscriptions, Apple Health, push notifications, and related platform services.

These providers operate under their own privacy terms in addition to obligations they have when processing information for Omi.

10. Data Sharing

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • With other signed-in Omi users: your profile (username, display name, profile photo, bio, follower counts, and when you were last active), a summary of your recent workouts and cardio activity, and your unlocked achievements.
  • To service providers that operate features and infrastructure on our behalf.
  • When you direct us to share information or otherwise provide your consent.
  • To comply with law, legal process, or valid government requests.
  • To investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or threats to rights, property, or safety.
  • In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections and notice where required.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and synchronize your account, preserve the history and settings you choose to maintain, process subscriptions, resolve support issues, secure the Services, and meet legal obligations.

Food scan photos are not stored on Omi's servers. So that a retried scan is not counted twice, the full response to a scan is kept for 24 hours, and the records used to enforce daily scan limits are kept for up to 90 days. Omi keeps the result of each scan with your account until the account is deleted. Unsaved program drafts expire after seven days. Operational logs are kept by our hosting providers for a limited period.

Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it. Some information may remain temporarily in protected backups or be retained when required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or security purposes.

12. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. We also limit access to providers and systems that need information to operate the Services.

No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for maintaining control of your device and Apple account.

13. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and legal exceptions may apply.

  • Edit fitness, nutrition, goals, and account information through available app controls.
  • Turn weather notifications on or off in Omi's settings.
  • Manage location, camera, photo-library, Apple Health, and notification permissions in device settings.
  • Manage or cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple account settings.
  • Use the account controls in Omi to initiate deletion of your account and associated data.

14. Account and Data Deletion

You can initiate permanent deletion of your Omi account and associated data in the app under Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Omi asks you to confirm the request and verify your Apple account before deletion. Deleting the app from your device does not by itself delete your account or synchronized information.

Successful account deletion removes or de-identifies the personal data associated with your account, including account details, workouts, cardio activities and routes, nutrition and body information, food scans, programs, goals, settings, and history. Omi also revokes its Sign in with Apple authorization. We keep a record that an App Store purchase was used with an Omi account, with the reference to your account removed, so that the purchase cannot be moved to a different account. We may also retain limited transaction or audit records required for legal, accounting, security, support, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes and delete them when they are no longer required. Information in protected backups is removed through normal backup lifecycle processes. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions must be managed separately through Apple.

15. Children's Privacy

Omi is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child has provided personal information to Omi, we will investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required.

16. International Users

Omi is operated from the United States and is primarily intended for U.S. users, but people may access the Services elsewhere. If you use Omi outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your country.

Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate protection for international transfers and honor applicable local privacy rights.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Omi, our data practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice when required by law.
